Forever Or A Long Long Time vs. Lemons
We read Forever Or A Long Long Time by Caela Carter and Lemons by Melissa Savage. While there were things that we enjoyed about both the books, we unanimously chose Forever Or A Long Long Time. We all agreed that this was a hard book to put down. Once we started reading it we were sucked into the story and really wanted to discover with the main characters, Flora and Julian, where they had come from and what had happened to them. It was so interesting that Flora and Julian didn't believe that they were born and how they would come up with all sorts of theories about where they came from. Even though none of us could personally relate to Flora & Julian's experiences with being in Foster Care and all that had happened to them, we really empathized with the characters. Flora behaves and thinks differently than most people and we thought is was interesting how she had different names for people in her head. Julian was a bit easier to relate to because he can express himself more easily. He has an unusual way of comforting himself but we can all relate to needing to find comfort.
